Water sports and adventure in Paracas: where the action is on the bay

Paracas Bay means calm water, a steady southern breeze and one pier, El Chaco, where almost everything on the water starts. These are the adventure options that leave from there, what each one asks of you and how to fit them into one day.

Parasailing: the bay from above

The one adventure on the bay that asks nothing of the passenger. You sit on the back platform of the boat, the canopy fills and you rise gradually over the water; you land on the same platform. Fly solo, as a couple (Duo) or as three (Trio). Prices are per flight, from S/ 200, life jacket included.

  • No experience and no swimming needed.
  • Ages 10 and up; minors aged 10 to 17 fly with their legal guardian.
  • Exact time slots every morning and afternoon.

Inflatable water park on El Chaco beach

On the same beach sits the inflatable water park of Yakupark Adventure, YakuFly's sister company: floating slides, obstacle courses and balance challenges on the sea. It is the plan for families with children who are still too young to fly. Tickets and opening hours are on its website.

Boat trips and the Ballestas Islands

The boats to the Ballestas Islands, the classic Paracas outing, also leave from El Chaco. For the full guide to the area, see what to do in Paracas (in Spanish). Anyone who does not want to fly can ride YakuFly's boat as an onboard companion for S/ 35 and watch the flight from the water.

Planning an adventure day in Paracas

  • Book parasailing first: it is the only activity with exact time slots and limited seats.
  • Fly in the morning and keep the afternoon for the water park or a boat trip.
  • Driving down from Lima the same day? Afternoon slots give you time for the road.
  • Wind decides: if the port authority does not allow departures, the flight is rescheduled at no cost or 100% refunded.
